Pandemic & Marginalised groups
The COVID-19 pandemic impacts all of us on an individual, familial and communal level. The crisis has served to intensify the challenges that women and marginalized groups such as LGBTIQ communities face. The stay-home order from the government in Indonesia has caused an increase in cases of domestic violence (KDRT). Why is this the case? what are the challenges that the marginalised communities encounter? How are transgender people portrayed in the Dutch media?
The Netherland-Indonesia Consortium for Muslim-Christian Relations (NICMCR) gender working group organizes a virtual webinar/discussion that will discuss the situation of these marginalized groups in the context of Indonesia and the Netherlands during the covid-19 pandemic.
